The Texas Chemistry Council congratulates Amy Blanchett, Senior Communications Representative at Formosa Plastics Corporation, Texas, on her recent appointment by Governor Greg Abbott to the Board of the Calhoun Port Authority.
As a representative of a long-standing TCC member company, Blanchett exemplifies the leadership and community engagement that define Texas chemistry. In addition to her role at Formosa, she serves on the boards of the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce & Agriculture, Sportsmen’s for Charity Club, and the United Way of Calhoun County. She is also an active member of the Downtown Waterfront Master Plan Visioning Committee for the City of Port Lavaca and the Rotary Club of Port Lavaca.
Blanchett shared, “I am honored that Governor Greg Abbott has appointed me to serve on the board of the Calhoun Port Authority. The coastal bend is my home and also our nation’s energy gateway! I look forward to serving my community and working alongside so many talented people. I am passionate about helping our port grow because I know it is the key to economic growth and long-term prosperity for our region.”

Blanchett earned her Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from Texas A&M University. Her term on the Calhoun Port Authority Board will extend until May 2027.
